The insurance for the cat comes due for renewal early next month and while I have a renewal invitation there seemed to be no obvious way of declining that save for cancelling the extant policy.
With other insurance policies I have usually found somewhere in the relevant ’portal’ to do so but it has eluded me so far in this case.

Is this going to require a phone call?

Yes you should phone them up to ensure it is done.0

The renewal invite will tell you want to do if you dont want to proceed with the renewal, it may be a phone call or they may have online self serve options.Lucky_Duck_2 said:The insurance for the cat comes due for renewal early next month and while I have a renewal invitation there seemed to be no obvious way of declining that save for cancelling the extant policy.

Sadly not (hence the OP), neither the renewal email nor the documents uploaded by them on line offer any guidance on how not to renew. The nearest it gets is inviting one to check they have the correct details and advise them of any changes.

Are you moving to another provider?Lucky_Duck_2 said:The insurance for the cat comes due for renewal early next month and while I have a renewal invitation there seemed to be no obvious way of declining that save for cancelling the extant policy.

If so lf your cat has any recorded issues it may not be covered with the new provider.0 -
            Currently no claims or issues
Renewal premium is up and no nectar points this time around0 -

You may cancel the renewal before the renewal date by accessing the My Passes link through the My Account section on the Sainsbury's Grocery Online website or by calling our Customer Care Team on 0800 328 1700.Lucky_Duck_2 said:Currently no claims or issues

From onoine Terms and Conditions.1 -
Thank you for that, seems odd that they want you to use their grocery website rather than the one created specifically for their insurance.
I tried the ‘cancel’ option but that then required one to phone so they could discuss the offer I apparently now qualified for.
Previously with car and home insurance it was possible to cancel the auto renew without needing to talk to anyone

You can only hope that this new offer means they will decrease the premium, which they wouldn't do if you were not threatening to leave.Lucky_Duck_2 said:Thank you for that, seems odd that they want you to use their grocery website rather than the one created specifically for their insurance.

But they don’t want you to leave so want to speak to you. They will possibly offer you a cheaper premium or lower cover for less premium.Lucky_Duck_2 said:Thank you for that, seems odd that they want you to use their grocery website rather than the one created specifically for their insurance.
