Email and letter from this person saying I owe money to Orange!! I’ve never been with orange.
Something to do with OPOS Ltd, offering a reduced payment if paid now. Looks very convincing.

Scummy debt collector looking to pin someone's debt on you
It's called 'tracing'
You share some features with the actual debtor.
You could send a 'prove it' letter or just politely inform them that they have the wrong person.0 -
They have form, recent thread here.

Send that 'prove it' letter as detailed in the thread0 -
Just a note - make sure when you write back that you don’t give them any information they don’t already have - so if they have addressed you as Mr J Smith that is all you use - don’t be telling them your full name.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Are we talking Orange, the mobile phone company? They shut down around 2019 as the brand was rolled into EE (the actual merger with T-mobile was back in 2010).So even if the debt were real, it would almost certainly be statute barred by now. If they are claiming for anything before 2019, they have no hope of winning in court. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
