in IVA & DRO
Hi all..
My DRO was discharged in May so I’m currently in the clearing up stage by emailing creditors.
My DRO was discharged in May so I’m currently in the clearing up stage by emailing creditors.
I am currently having a problem with House of Fraser as they are still marking my account as missing payment.
I have had reply from them this morning claiming that they are not on my DRO paperwork when they clearly are. However they are shown as “House of Fraser” and not “Frasers Group Financial Services” like they are on my credit report.
In previous emails they have also confirmed a DRO was present on my account.
Have I made a mistake when I did my application? Does this mean I still owe them?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Do the balances match? Do you have a record of the reference that the Intermediary sent in? Unfortunately the latter info doesn't make it to the CREDNOT that gets sent to the creditor.
Have they posted a default on your reports? You may need to get free statutory reports to see this clearly1 -
The balance on my DRO is slightly higher because for some reason House of Fraser have credited me months ago.I do have a copy of what the intermediary sent too and that’s says House of Fraser. This is how it is showing on my credit karma report.0

I’ve just check my house of Fraser account and in May 2024 (the month I took my DRO out) I received a refund for IVA future interest write off. So I’m confused why they’ve done that when it’s a DRO and are now claiming I don’t even have DRO against them.

Debts change hands in insolvency all the time, just in case they become collectable again, so creditors changing names is nothing untoward.
The IS normally work on the principle that the name of the creditor can change, but as long as the original agreement number can identify the account, and the balance owed to them is more or less correct, then its not a problem.
Quite a few creditors try to deny all knowledge of a DRO on occasion, even though they will have been written too by the IS.
Your account is defaulted, so that`s good, the entry will drop off your file as per normal at the 6 year mark, and you don`t owe them any money, as long as the above is correct.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes it looks like they were 7 months late in recording a default but over a 6-year period that's just a minor annoyance.1

Thank you for your replies. This is causing so much anxiety for me.The balance would be the same if they hadn’t of credited me £75. However I’ve noticed there was no account number entered and marked as unknown that my Intermediary sent in. Will this be a problem? I can’t believe I didn’t notice this.0

Stop with the anxiety, the IS don`t tend to list account numbers on the DRO paperwork, just the creditor and the balance owed.
As long as you gave them the account number originally, which you must have done as they didn`t pick you up on it, all is well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
