in Credit cards
Hello everyone!
I purchased a beauty lamp on eBay in February using my credit card. Around 2 months later it had stopped working. I contacted the company through eBay and was asked to send videos etc of it not working which I did, I was then totally ignored.
I contacted Lloyds to discuss a chargeback, the said I needed to go back to the company advising that the item was available for collection and to allow (can’t remember exactly) a few weeks for them to respond.
Nothing happen so back to Lloyds I went to log a chargeback. This was the beginning of May.
Since then I have been back and forth with Lloyds providing evidence of what I have sent to the company but they are now asking me to get and independent report proving the fault.

My understanding was that as the item was less than 2 months old, the burden of proof is with the retailer to do this, not me? What’s more is that Lloyds have said they won’t reimburse me for the report?
Any advice would be grately appreciated!

Chargeback for faulty, does not cover a product that develops a fault, only faulty when received.
Chargebacks are also over & above your consumer rights.
So below has nothing to do with the chargeback.

Ebay could reject it on the basis they did not supply the goods. But like paypal, they now accept the chargeback & then chase the seller for the funds.Life in the slow lane0 -
