New oven

I have a new oven a little deeper at back closer to socket is this okay or would it need more clearance the socket is behind the cooker? It’s electrical and a gas hob on top

The installation instructions will have the required clearances clearly specified.

I wouldn't worry - modern ovens are well insulated and cooled outside with airflow.

Probably more important is that you can access the socket to switch it off, in case of some kind of problem.

Here’s some photos last pic was how it was before looks flush to wall he said it’s deeper but contacted most electricians they can make the socket if I wish but they insist it should be fine as it is?

Behind it there is just a double socket and a gas pipe

Can you not get the double socket moved to one side?

Is the left hand switch of the double socket, the oven swich?  Your new oven sounds a pretty standard depth so I am sure you will be fine.
