Fridge freezer Appliance cover

Options
Hi,

I purchased American Fridge freezer from John Lewis in 2017. Unfortunately, I have lost the receipt.  I have contacted JL but they are unable to find my purchase.

Are there any companies who can accept appliance cover without proof of purchase in case of claim?

Thanks

I have not use appliance cover for a while, but when I did I was never asked for proof of purchase.
What was your payment method? if it was a non-cash payment, would it show on any of your statements, as there should be a 'reference' and JL should be able to link it. If the item was over £100 and paid by Credit card, you can make an insurance claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, the CC will ask for proof of purchase, hence, it is better to find the reference and get back to JL for a receipt. JL usually email receipts.

Beware that unless the cover is 'new for old', for 2017 fridge it can be waste of money. If they cannot repair it they will pay the estimated residual value that will be very small.

OP, we had cover on our dual fuel range cooker for a few years (maybe 7 ish) through Domestic and General. We didn't need to provide any proof of purchase. I think there was one year where it paid off, but financially the cover cost more than we got out of it - it did give us piece of mind though as we struggled to get hold of any cooker repair people before hand. For an 8 year old fridge freezer, I would expect it would be quite expensive. D&G cover guarantees a like for like replacement if they can't repair.
