Joiner installed wrong doors

Hi all,
Just after a little but of advice.
Having quite a bit of work done to the house. One of the jobs has been changing all internal doors from the basic white to oak.
We was put in touch through our builder to a joiner who has done quite a bit of work including fitting a kitchen, changing the staircase and some other jobs (to mixed results)
He started off good but seems to have lost his head and has less time to finish jobs due to taking on other work.
The flash point came around the flooring he was supposed to lay, kept putting it off until we put some pressure on saying we will find someone else if need be. He then magically managed to organise other trades so he could do the job, only to turn up that day unannounced saying he isn't doing any more work for us.
We sent him a snag list for him to out right and agreed we would find someone else for the flooring.
If it wasn't for this, we wouldn't have dug deeper but here we are...
We picked out some internal doors frok howdens who had supplied the kitchen. He said howdens didn't do 3/4 glass fire doors and would go to Jewson. Fine by us.
He then seemed to say he had got them from 3 different online retailers. Again fine by us.
When the doors turned up before fitting we raised concerns some of the doors were finished, some were pre finished. He told us, its fine buy this oil (£100 expense to us and time oiling) and they will look the same.....they don't. Never will. Finished have a plastic coating.
What's worse we have now realised, thanks to a photo showing the product code that the 3/4 fire doors he supplied are not actually fire doors.
Waiting to speak to both Jewson and the online supplier on Monday to confirm this.
But if this is correct, are we within right to demand refund if the doors and labour and for him to come and collect these doors?
Worth noting the main builder has been fantastic. Dropped him for his black book and agreed to fix the snags so we don't have to have the Joiner back.
Another note, the joiner loved his contracts. We signed one for the doors which started 44mm fire door. So it's in black ink.
The doors we have are 40mm

If the joiner has demonstrably breached the contract by supplying and fitting goods that don't confirm to the specification then it's up to him to rectify the breach. Of course, given the backstory, it sounds unlikely that he'll just turn around and say 'OK, I'll get the right doors in', but you can't really decide what to do until putting the matter to him and seeing what he says.
Have you paid him in full, and if so, how?
