when to sell my mini cooper?

i have to sell my 52 reg mini cooper as i am pregnant, I know this time of year is a slow time for used car sales. I am due in june so have a few months, but also need to find vw golf as a replacement.
does anyone know when generally car sales start picking up again?
i dont want to start paying for advertising which only lasts a few weeks in the deadest part of the year.
advice please.... thanks
