Mouse problem

If you know anything about how to care for a wirefree mouse I'd be pleased to hear. Have had ours - mouse and keyboard - for some years now, but mouse has developed a life of its own, either sticking completely, or blocking and moving everything faster than the eye can see. Is there anything I can try or do I just buy new?

Have you tried new batteries ?
Have you changed the surface you run the mouse on - Xmas mouse mat ?
Is it the roller action that has it's own life ? The buttons ?
Assuming optical not ball wireless mouse - depends on age. But- If ball try cleaning the ball and rollers.
Check the driver settings in control panel.

Above in order of likely fault .... HTH
