You should revert to your client because the 'propensity to pay' score in my case is zero, so any claim is hopeless and a waste of the court fee (whether 'fronted' by your firm or not). Move on to weaker victims.

The alleged 'debt' is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

Got the following response by email today:

Dear **********

We write in response to your correspondence received in our office.
We now respond to the same as follows.

When parking on private land, the contractual terms of the site are set out on the signs. You are entering a contract, agreeing to the terms by parking, and staying on the site. Parking in breach of the terms as stipulated on the signage means that you are then breaking the terms of the contract.

Our client will ensure that there are signs clearly displayed on the land, outlining the terms of the parking. These will generally be displayed at the entrance and exit of the land/ car park, as well as being positioned at various points throughout the land. Our client does not need to prove that you read and understood the terms of those signs and will rely on the fact that the signs were situated on the land and that a reasonable person would have seen them. You should always be vigilant when entering any land that you are not familiar with or that you know is privately owned and there are parking terms in place.

The terms and conditions of parking are clearly stated on the signs prominently displayed around this site. These include that this is a pay by phone car park, and that there is a free period of 60 minutes for customers of Southgate Park (Starbucks) only, however there is a requirement to register your vehicle registration on site to qualify for this free customer stay. Other users of the car park must pay the appropriate tariff. Your vehicle was observed parked in breach of the terms and conditions. The parking charge was issued correctly.

A Notice to Keeper was issued to you, at which stage you were afforded the opportunity to appeal the charge, transfer liability to the driver (if applicable), or make payment. Neither a successful appeal nor a valid nomination was received, and the balance remains outstanding. You subsequently submitted an appeal to our client, which was considered and rejected. Following this, you were given the opportunity to escalate the matter to POPLA if you disagreed with the decision which was also rejected.

Please note the timeframe in which to appeal the Parking Charge has expired. You were given the opportunity to lodge an appeal when the initial Notice was issued to you. Given that the case has been escalate to this firm for recovery action, the time to appeal has now elapsed and payment of the PC is now required.

If you are at all unsure of your legal position, we recommend that you seek your own independent legal advice.

You now have 30 days from the date of this email to make payment of £170.00. Failure to make payment may result in a Claim being issued against you without any further reference.

Of course. You want the claim form, as that signals the end game where all MET DCB Legal claims end up discontinued just before the hearing fee has to be paid.

You don't fill in/out any forms, you go to MCOL, complete the acceptance of service and then submit a defence. BUT you are getting ahead of yourself. What is the date of issue of the claim form? Post a pic of the claim form - with ALL personal data redacted but leave dates showing. Help for the defence stage is in the template defence thread.
