EBAY's New Payments System - Holding our momey...

Options
Is there a way to opt out of this new strangulation by ebay?
It used to be that once you sold your item and the buyer paid you had access to your money right away. Now it seems they hold your money for more than a week and up to 9 days... This absolutely sucks..  Is there a way to get your money right away?
I can only imagine they are holding it in a bank making interest on it..
Now it feels like you don't make any money, as sales just dribble in, you never really see it, it's a horrible experience. If I sell something, I want my money right away, not being held ransom by a large corporation. This just feels like a power play and enbay telling you that they own you!

The quickest way to get the money is send using a tracked service and make sure the tracking number is added into ebay.
Then funds are released 2 days after the tracking shows delivery.

The way around it is to sell somewhere else with different rules.

Ps, it's only the first couple of weeks when it doesn't feel like you earn anything.  After that the money starts coming in at the normal rate!

I mostly use their "simple delivery" now as it means I don't have to mess around writing labels out or cellotaping white paper onto brown boxes etc.. so tracking is updated automativcally.. An item was shown as delivered 2 days ago,. £45, still not in my balance..

I think this may be reversed shortly, as vinted and other sites continue to get traction vs ebay.

When I use simple delivery I still have to sellotape white paper onto boxes or envelopes otherwise they wouldn’t know where to deliver it….

On your transaction delivered it should say on the selling page when the funds are in your account.  I don’t know if I imagined it as obviously I’m not checking my balance minute by minute but I thought I saw one of my transactions wasn’t cleared until the time it was delivered I.e it was 48 hours to the minute

Vinted use the same system and their waits are exactly the same and courier dependent. Etsy also hold funds as do Amazon.

No need for sellotape or labels at all with Simple delivery, sellers can use QR codes.

If you have selected to print a label by mistke, the refund will take at least 6 weeks to process.

I have been waiting for an online agent for 10minutes and then another 15 minutes for them to tell me whether I can still use the Post office to post items, then I was told I need to be transferred to anther team.I logged off.
