I've been in dispute for several months with UW but can't get anywhere
I now see that they've been deducting VATfrom the budget plan payments I've made!
They changed the payment plan without telling me and then ADDED what they called our missing payment to the usage due
What can I do? They won't accept they're wrong. I've changed suppliers!

Welcome to the Energy forum.
Yes, that's how UW account for VAT. It's a bit weird but it all works out correctly.baksteph0177 said:I've been in dispute for several months with UW but can't get anywhere

UW should give notice of any change in DD. This might be by email, or could be printed on your bill. Have you checked your bills?baksteph0177 said:They changed the payment plan without telling me and then ADDED what they called our missing payment to the usage dueDid you miss a payment?
It's not clear from your post that they've done anything wrong. Which specific thing do you think is incorrect?baksteph0177 said:What can I do? They won't accept they're wrong. Isn't that what is supposed to happen ? You are paying towards a bill that includes VAT.baksteph0177 said:.......................

If, say, you pay a DD of £84 isn't that actually a £80 plus £4 of VAT ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
It works both ways, deduct VAT from DD payments and apply the balance to the charges pre-VAT, or accumulate the DD payments including VAT and deduct them from the post-VAT total, both work, it just looks a little off when your payments are reduced, but it is just as correct either way.Robin9 said:
