FRONT DOOR STEPS
Hi Folks
I've had my front door steps put in recently.
However, the guy who did the wok left a hole in the middle
of the steps. He said it was for ventilation.
Is he correct? Do I need to put some sort of 'net' in front of the hole to prevent flies etc from going into that hole?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Maybe it is to ventilate the void ........ but ........ that is one heck of a messy bodged hole. Is there an airbrick in the house wall behind there ?0

That looks as though he's chewed the hole. It may need ventilation but if it does that hole needs tidying up, the stuff half occluding it removing and a grill of some sort putting over it.0

Does that hole have a channel behind it which goes right back to the brickwork? It doesn't look like it does which begs the question what's it's purpose - to ventilate what and how. It looks a mess I definitely want it covered with a flush fitting cover or grill/brickgeek84 said:Hi Folks

As asked above, was there an air brick in the house wall that has been covered up by the step?
Man, what a mess - especially when the rest of the work looks good.1
