Scotland - Horizon Parking Fine - Asda

I received a Horizon Parking fine after parking in Asda in February this year.  Whilst I did use the shop and this can be seen on my CC statement (i no longer have the receipt) however I forgot to get the ticket validated before I left.

I have subsequently received monthly letters from Horizon demanding payment which I have ignored but today recieved a letter from Debt Recovery Plus and I am starting to panic slightly.

Has the rules changed in Scotland or am I still ok to ignore the letters? The debt has went from the initial £80 to over £200.

    Not changed yet,  so ignore

There is no debt unless a court said so, probably a sheriff in Scotland,  but nothing is going to happen over a single pcn

As above, there is no debt, and it's not a "fine" it's a speculative invoice, there is also no need for panic!

Am I too late at this stage to go into the store with the card statement to show as proof I was there?

By all means complain about the PCN to get it cancelled,  but as keeper,  and as a customer , plan A

No blabbing about who was driving,  the Royal WE will suffice,  we shopped, we didn't expect a pcn etc

    No. Never too late.

If you just do the forum search I suggested, you'd have already found that out from all the threads before. All results will be threads about PCNs at retail parks in Scotland, exactly like your case.
