3 PPN residential car park

Hello, 

I have received 3 parking notices on consecutive days for parking in the residential car park of my building. The car was parked in the space designated for a different flat, which I know didn't use a car and therfore the space was free. 

I sent them an email that stated I would not be paying and contained the following wording 
' I was parked in the designated car park of my residential building. '

I now believe this could have been a mistake after reading the newbies thread, as this could possibly imply who the driver was. 

Would my reasoning be a valid defense in court? And should I proceed with the appeal as stated in the newbies thread, even after emailing them already?

The company is private parking solutions london, and I received the notice to keeper in the post.

OK don't worry about having admitted to driving.

Get a signed & dated statement from the neighbour if they authorised you (or are happy to confirm that they never have a problem) with you using that bay. Keep the statement in case you need to defend the case later.

Show us:

- both sides (yes, the back too) of one of the PCNs, redacting your data, VRM, PCN ref and QR Code but leave all dates visible;

- some photos of the bay, the lack of readable terms near it and

- a close up of the nearest t&cs sign.

may be nothing in it but note that this sign is one of the most prominent in the car park and implies that residents of the building have the right to park

Should i try an appeal through the company first?

Yes. Unless going into ignore mode. Doesn't matter either way as POPLA isn't great.
