Morning all, thanks @Gers for the early start. Have a safe journey, I hope the funeral goes as well as it can - I know you said there could be some toxicity.
It's looking damp out there and apparently we're in for light rain all day with a gentle breeze. Highs of 17 deg with little prospect of anything better for another week. Summer is on hold!
I had my little jaunt to the Co-op yesterday for the few bits and bobs that I need and am fully stocked up now for another week. It was a pleasant walk there and back, the wayside daffodils and dandelions have been replaced by buttercups (loads of them), daisies, docks, thistles and some small plants with a spike of pretty purple flowers whose name I can never remember, to name just a few. The blackberry brambles are already in bloom too so maybe it will be a better harvest this year. Last night I enjoyed a TV visit to New Zealand courtesy of David Suchet; Hawaii next week, then Canada the week after.
I didn't bake any bread yesterday so that's a must today. I'll also be making a batch of braised red cabbage, some kind of dip for breadsticks and lemon possets to use up some single cream. I've cut out the fabric pieces for my new cushion covers and plan to get them sewn up today or tomorrow. The postman has been early doors with my parcel of the wadding I ordered for a sofa seat pad so that's another sewing job on the list. DH always said I make work for myself - he was right, I do, but I don't like being idle.Tea tonight is a tuna & mushroom pasta bake.
@Scarlet - Good luck with the dentist visit, hope your new glasses help.
@TA - Glad you enjoyed your lunch and catch up with DF. Good luck with finding a new hairdresser, not easy when you've got one trained!
@Izzy - Oops, that gardener certainly dropped a clanger!
@WL - I think I'd have done the same once the A3 paper came out - seems a bit of a cheek when it was supposed to be a Thank You lunch. And commiserations on the NHS appointment, sadly their communication system isn't always as joined up as we'd like it to be.
@themsthebreaks - Well done, you're making good progress on your decluttering mission.
@RosyRed - Wow, that really was a busy day!
Right, time for kitchen duties so I'll wish you all a good day and send hugs for those who need or want them. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Mornign all! Not much going on here today. Fetching some wood to trun into kindling later on and then I'll check on stuff at the allotment. The garden will probably get some fiddling with, there's stuff to pot on and I still have to finish building the greenhouse before my tomatoes take over the world. Off to OHs mums for tea today too as he's on earlies. This time it's my favourite that she makes, cottage pie...Other than that, not a lot is going on today.Gers, safe drive...Izzy, how awful for her, if I was one of his cusotmers I'd be wondering what hes been sayig about me behind my back too so maybe he'll lose more than her. And quite rightly too. Ruby, I just hope they take note of your complaint...TTB, have you looked at the declutteing thread? They're quite nice on there too. TA, good to hear he's recovering physically.. Take care all...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning all
Raining here and quite chilly the dogs will get a quick walk today.
Well the news went from bad to worse yesterday, I emailed the sw with my complaint re Rob and informed her I would be putting a formal complaint in via the councils website, she came back to me immediately ( which never happens) to say my comments had been noted and she would pass them onto her supervisor and that she probably wouldn’t be able to contact me again due to the complaint 🙄 I then put the formal complaint in, After I dropped Rob back in the afternoon I received an email from the placement team giving me one months notice from all day support with Rob, I knew it was coming but I was still very upset and spent a lot of the evening crying - not for me so much but for him, stopping all day support will be disastrous for him, he is so high energy and will be sitting in that house 24 hrs a day with an 80 year old woman who can’t walk 😡
He will have no life whatsoever he won’t see his friends he won’t go to work, he will have nothing, just a mother who financially abuses him and neglects his needs, she even makes him sleep in the same room as her at night which for a 36 year old man is disgusting.
I will not give up on this complaint I will take it further if necessary someone has to fight for him.
I have taken today off as I am not in the right head space to see Rob today he would be able to see that I am upset, I also need to start looking for another job 😩
Thank you all for the support and I am sorry for the depressing update xx12 -
Ruby I'd see if your local MP can get involved because they are obviously a bunch of incompetent ****. Good on you for fighting on for Rob and I can understand why you're upset. You're being penalised for trying to help him because they obviously won't. {{hugs}}11

@-taff I did look at that thread you mentioned, but thought it was for more long term decluttering. I will do well if I keep it up for thirty days, as I get bored easily 😳😊 thank you though, for mentioning it.9

Good afternoon
Sunshine and showers here.
Ruby, that decision is just heartbreaking. Theres so many questions, why has his mum been discharged from hospital if she can't look after herself, let alone Rob?
Surely it's an offence to withhold his money and not care for him. That's what the moneys for.
My heart truly goes out to both of you and I just hope someone sees sense. Words fail me.
Hugs to both of you x9 -
I'm so sorry Ruby for the way this is turning out. It's heartbreaking xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7

Oh Ruby, what a terrible situation. I applaud you for standing by Rob and losing your job with him but you've done the right thing in my opinion. I hope you can get some help to take things further.
Sorry I've not been around much - everything is so busy! Getting towards the end of term at work is always a bit of a slog but seems worse this year for some reason.
I'll pop in tomorrow to see how you're all doing. Take care. XX10 -
@Red_ruby that's an awful way to treat someone who's making another person's life more enriched.
I second involving your MP - Councils have a deadline to provide a response to them of (I think) 10 days. Gather all your notes together and make a bullet-pointed list of everything: concerns about his wellbeing, days Rob has not been properly clothed / had no money / been ill due to his PICA not being managed, the amount of money you've had to subsidise him, the difference whilst he's been in respite etc.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
