I'm off very early doors for a six hour drive down south for a funeral tomorrow. Yesterday I felt so much better until, in the afternoon, I felt some twinges of the UTI for the first time since Monday. I phoned the surgery, spoke to the lovely AP nurse so she then prescribed another three day course of ABs if I need them Today all is well again so I'll take them with me.@Ruby - I too am appalled at what's happening with / to Rob and can only offer a big hug to you. xxI hope that everyone is doing well. Take care.14

Good morning Gers and all to follow, hope you're feeling better Gers.
Hope you have an uneventful journey today.
It's rained overnight here, after a showery day yesterday. The wind was cold as well.
Ruby hope you got some sleep last night, I know you're upset about Rob, poor man.
TA, hope you have recovered from the vertigo, also I was pleased to read that your bf's son is doing well.
I've got a dental appt at 9am, just an inspection and hygienist appt, then I'm off to the optician to pick up my new glasses. I had eye surgery back in February so had to let my eye "settle" for a while. It should be well and truly settled by now.
Not much else going on, just the usual household jobs.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days, take care folks.

Morning allIt's looking to be a very wet day todaySafe journey GersI sold a food mixer on Faceache last week and had a message last night that a part of it was missing. I'd put it away in the kitchen cupboards and put another part of it elsewhere and forgot about it so will contact the buyer to say I've found it so they should come round today. I've also got the smart meter people coming today to mend my meter as I've been told it hasn't been sending readings for the last 70 days or so. Why didn't they contact me sooner because as far as I knew it was working perfectly?Have a good day to you all x12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Gosh that's a long drive for a funeral, have a safe journey. Evidence of o/n rain out there but fine for now. I suppose the usual mix of sunshine and showers is ahead but at least the wind looks to have dropped.
I looked at the radio clock when I woke up and thought it said 6.10 so I had another few minutes and then stirred myself. Once upright I could see it was actually 5.15 so got back in bed and finally got up at 6.10. Prior to that setback I'd had a decent night's sleep for a change!
I had a lovely extended lunch with DF yesterday but gosh it was busy at first but soon quietened down when any workers went back to work. She had lots to tell me about her DS with distressing photos his DP had sent of his progress day by day. It's just amazing what they can do these days and how quickly he is recovering. Needless to say all the upset and worry hasn't helped her DH's MH but hopefully he might settle down a bit now.
A grocery shop with DD is on the agenda for today, though she says this time it won't end up an all day job visiting numerous different sm's! Hmm I think I may have heard that before!
I am in desperate need of a hair cut and our hairdresser was due this week but a big operation originally booked for the 12th has been brought forward due to a cancellation. So she has had her op this week instead. She doesn't know how long her recovery will take, nor how long before she is fit to drive and understands if we all want to go elsewhere for a trim. I've had her for more years than I can remember so it's a big decision!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or sad. RUBY you and poor ROB have been on mind constantly and I pray whoever came to that decision has a change of heart. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning everyone Ruby I’m angry on your behalf for poor rob and as someone said on here how many times have we heard lessons have been learnt I hope you get some better news about him soon . Gers take care that’s a long drive .its raining here but the wind has dropped I’m off to do the cleaning at the house with the poorly hubby they had been married 40 years yesterday I don’t know how much longer they will have together when I went last week he seemed bright but he is saying he will eat and she’s making him things but he’s not really touching it he’s getting smaller and smaller sad to see I was telling him about my cruise he’d remembered I’d been and he was telling me to book one for next year for all of us I just agreed he will have forgotten by now . I need to call at the butcher on the way back they have some big double yokers in I have taken a couple of gammon steaks ot that’s tonight sorted . TA it’s scary changing hairdressers but sometimes a change is good . The girl who’s little dog I look after on a Wednesday was really upset when she came to pick her little dog up last night she has had a gardener for a couple of years and she did no mow may and she had said I will pay you the same but just leave the lawn and do a bit more on the borders apparently he had sent a message to his friend saying what a effing pain in the but she was and it had been mistakenly been sent to every one including her so she messaged him and told him and he said he was just feeling stressed because he had a lot of work on so she cut his work load down for him as he won’t be coming back to hers she was really upset I felt so sorry for her why do some people have to be so rotten. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning all. Drizzly here today so won't be able to go into the garden with 20 month old DGS; one of his favourite things to do when he's here.
Yesterday turned into a busy day. The Volunteers thank you lunch at the Larder turned into a bit of a structured Think Tank on a vision for the Centre - reminded me of my old work days! I opted out half way though, just as they brought out the A3 sheets of paper for people to write on.......
Meanwhile, DH was trying to phone the car dealership as he had an upgrade to his Satnav due whilst it was still under warranty but apparently our local dealership is closing so he was referred on to the one in Bedford. Managed to get it booked in for the end of the month but I'll have to follow in my car and then we'll go somewhere for a few hours, as they need it all day.
I then was on the phone chasing up my ENT referral, only to find they have changed location and I had to phone elsewhere. You'd think that a letter sent on 9 April would know that the phone number and location would be changing on 23 April wouldn't you but, no; this is the NHS!! The letter said if I hadn't heard by 3 June then I was allowed to phone so I guess there was no intention of sending me an appointment and it was just a holding ploy.
I feel for you Ruby as this must be happening 100 fold regarding Rob. Normal, straightforward people like us can see what is obviously in his best interests and it makes us so cross when the answer is staring them in the face but is ignored, for, presumably, financial reasons.
I'll get off my soapbox now and await the arrival of DGS. Wishing you all a stress free day xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Safe journey later. Good idea to get more AB’s just in case.A NWD for me. It looks to have rained overnight and is a bit chilly. We have missed the bin collection today as they come super early here. Oh well, first world problems!
Hope you get some response from the SW re: Rob @RedRuby1231 just crazy sending him

Good morning 😊
Another wet day. I am longing for some decent, sunny weather.
Today, I plan on decluttering the two cupboards in the half bathroom. They are out of sight out of mind cupboards, so who knows what I will find.
This evening, we are going to watch Little Women. Reviews have been positive, so I am looking forward to going. A quick and easy stir fry for later - beef, or mushroom - so no faffing around in the kitchen. I want to give the fridge a good clean, and need to wipe everything down, so that’s another job for today. Other than that, it will be slow-paced.
Hope you all have a good day 😊

Morning all, very wet here. Thanks Gers, safe journey.@RedRuby1231 , I didn't catch up on yesterdays news until now. I'm so sorry to hear what the powers that be have decided for Robs future, and I hope they keep a good eye on him if nothing else.I had a really busy day yesterday, Mr.T delivery early on, a phone call to my BFF to catch up on her news, then DB & SiL picked me up to go on a ramble over the moors with them, and have a stop at the coffee hut in the car park.It was really windy & blew SiLs paper coffee cup over her & her jeans were very soggy.Fortunately it didn't scald her. They dropped me off for a quick lunch before DH and I went to DGS school sports day. We spotted his other Grandma walking towards the field, and then his DM who had managed to get permission from work to work her lunch hour so she could come too. It was really nice they could come as it's his last primary school one.We had to have a makeshift tea as it was getting a bit late by the time we left DS, he always stays over on Wed.Nothing on the agenda really, DH fancied going for an afternoon tea at an old stately home but part of the attraction is a tour of the garden and house so best to leave it for a nice day I think.I also managed to get 2 lots of washing to dry outside now my new prop arrived, and managed to iron it all too as I caught up on the soaps I missed because of the holiday. Not sure on tea, most stuff is in the freezer so will have a look now before I forget!Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
