Lemonade buildings and contents insurance - beware if you live with grownup children

Hello. Just to let you know that if you live with grown up children, or any children that will turn 18 during the lifetime of your buildings / contents insurance you will have to add them separately for a fee. Also, you can only add two other adults. I live with my husband and 2 sons who are both at uni. When I tried to add my second son I couldn't and when I got a reply from the online chat I was told I'd exceeded the number of adults the insured person could add to the policy, and would need to take out a separate policy for my second son! Obviously less than ideal for plenty of families, so I thought I'd flag it up. Happily I was able to cancel with a full refund because it was within my 14 day cooling off period for online purchases. I did a price comparison which I always do, and despite putting in the number of adults in the house the price comparison website still showed Lemonade as an option - bit of a waste of time!

The above is a case study written by a brand agency that Lemonade used when setting themselves up. Their aim was to sell a "legacy" product to Millennial and Gen Z potential buyers. Whilst technically the older millennials could have 18+ year old kids by now it would be the minority.
Obviously they are trying to move a US proposition into the UK market which has a very different culture for insurance than the US and so they probably will struggle to workout how to fit into how we buy insurance.0
