Also if you are pondering lounge access abroad its worth factoring in a) if you are on a package holiday with coach transfers you have zero control about how early (or late) you get to the inbound airport b) check in for bags may only open 2 hours before the flight anyway c) you have to factor in the time it will take you to get through the extra non-Schengen security check which at some airports has been reported to be significant.0

Don't know how you'd cost it but booking a package with one of the package operators that offer "free" lounge access would seem an obvious consideration.
Thank goodness for "proper" business lounges.1
