Zones 1-3 is £5.20 (or was, just gone up to £5.40) Saraluv's prices are correct (new fares) for 1-2.

Have found this on the TFL website showing the price caps for Oyster cards

Unless things have changed in the last few weeks, you still pay the £3 deposit if you buy on line.

    I think this is correct.
You still pay the deposit on-line.

It is correct. I visited London last August and got myself and Mrs Baker Oyster cards via the website before we went. Good job too as the queues at Kings Cross to buy/top-up were horrendous.

I know that you can buy Oyster cards at some newsagents shops. There is one on the Brixton Road (below my OH's flat) which is just down the road from Kennington Park towards Brixton itself. They sell and top up cards there. I dont know about paying deposits because my OH had got two cards and gave me one of them which I topped up myself - wasnt aware of any caps just told them in the shop that I wanted to put £20 on it and they did.

I wouldn't be without my Oyster card.

    Enjoy London - its fab.
