I'm trying to set up port forwarding to my PS3 and wondered if i had to set a static IP for every device on my network.
i have found a guide on how to do it, but it says i must have a static IP for my computer. the PS3 already has a static IP and the guide says that i should not skip the 1st step to set a static IP for my computer. my router is a netgear dg834g if it helps
thanks in advance

Lets say your DHCP range starts at 192.168.0.2 and you only have 2 computers and your PS3.
If you give your PS3 the address 192.168.0.30 or something, then the others can use DHCP and it uses the first available address, so shouldnt reach more than .4
I have the same router. All you need to do is create the static ip on your ps3 with all the right subnet and gateway stuff, then create a service for your PS3 ports, and forward that service to your PS3 ip inbound
