Note that, like everything on the internet, it might be legal in the jurisdiction where it's hosted but still illegal in the jurisdiction where you view it.

I just found a gem there. An ad for a double sided, double-density floppy drive for my BBC micro. Total storage capacity 500KB per disk (half a meg...). Mine for the trivial sum of £229.95 (without media). I wonder if they've still got stock...
Seriously, you could spend hours on that site. It's like seeing your whole life flash before your eyes.

Yes, it's mostly legal, you get content getting taken down all the time though, as anyone can upload. So it's common to have stuff come up, and then get taken down for copyright later in the day.

The WayBack Machine is very useful, particularly when people claim to have seen or not seen something when they made a purchase or such as most the time the page was indexed fairly closely to when they claimed it happened and you can go back and see, for example, if it said "5 year warranty" or "5 year warranty subject to registration" when someone states they weren't told they had to register the warranty when they bought it 3 years ago.

Never spent much time randomly browsing it though.

Who knows. I just know you can download all the episodes of the original Tom & jerry from there.

So someone told me of course.

That will (obviously) be in violation of licensing agreements as it is not yet public domain, and it's presence risks getting the site sued for damages by the intellectual property owners.

    Does that help?

I have used the Wayback Machine (internet archive) many times to find legacy stuff, especially old software.

It is a fantastic resource, I hadn’t realised it includes films, which is dodgy and I hope it doesn’t result in the site being taken down.
