Trocal v Mineral felt Flat Roof

Hi All,

I have been given a quote for replacing my flat roof. There is approximately £1k in difference between opting for a Trocal over a Mineral Felt roof.

What is best option and why?

Well, a brief google search shows that Trocal roof is expected to last 30+ years, while felt one  only 15.

Trocal single ply membrane is normally only used on commercial buildings/larger areas. Obviously when covering a large area you need a higher performing product, and normally it would be installed by experienced contractors.
It is unusual it is being offered for a domestic flat roof, where normally the alternatives are -

Torch On Felt ( the traditional way )
EPDM - supposedly easier to install for less experienced installers/DIYers
GRP - Better product, but more expensive and needs to be installed by someone who is familiar with GRP.
