Octopus 'Smart' Meter?

Options
Octopus installed a new Smart Meter to replace the old one (which worked just fine) on 30 October last year. Still not sending data to Octopus, so I can't take advantage of any free electricity sessions. I have almost given up trying to get anything other than stallling and platitudes from them, so I'm hoping that there might be others in a similar situation with some handy advice! So far, all my communications with them have been by email and I have a suspicion that it's an AI bot that's replying.

    Welcome to the forum!
Your new meter works as a meter, but isn't communicating with anyone?
Were you supplied an in home display? Does that work (tariff info might be wrong)?

Do you know if you have a cellular hub or an arqiva radio hub - or possibly even a brand new 4G if trial rollout in your area in South.
See typical photos in link below and a better description of modes of operation - the number of LEDs is a pretty good clue in these examples and most of those cellular have cellular written on them.

If your in the south and midlands - so nominally cellular - whats the mobile signal like in the area in general - and specifically near to the meter.  It might benefit from an external booster or external antenna (to meter cabinet if not home - if its purely internal positioning)
Like a mesh cellular or a secondary aerial away from meter cabinet. (Do you know if others in your area have working meters - a mesh cellular hub might be able to communicate with others - and they can then relay information to your supplier).
You could try raising a formal complaint - which might get them to try fitting an alternative model.

They probably are AI replies. Ring them and ask for your issue to escalated to a team leader.

You often get better answers via X/Twitter, they are not usually AI bots but real people.

I have a presumably up-to-date SKU1 Cellular meter under the stairs for the electric supply. The gas meter is about ten metres away on the outside wall. At OE's request, I sent photos showing their location, also of the EV charge station located immediately outside the wall where the elec meter is mounted. I think they have been telling me that there may be a problem with the 'hub', which I suppose is from where the signals are transmitted, or not, to the supplier. OE are aware that the old smart meter was working for a full week after the EV station was installed.
I shall now find the email thread and have another go at them....

The thing marked SKU1 is the comms hub; the smart meter is immediately below it, and might look to be part of the same unit.
There have been problems with some smart meters not communicating; if you can give the make and model of yours someone might be able to say whether it's affected.
