Radiator take off

What kind of price would you think is reasonable for a plumber to take off a radiator and then come back at a later date to put it back on (for decorating purposes)?

I'd expect a minimum two lots of a call out fee, as when they're removing and replacing your radiator, they're not doing other work...

If it needs the water turned off and tank drained it could easily be £100 each visit.
I assume you are asking an expert as you can't do it yourself.
If there's a local handyman they might be able to do it for less.
If it's too expensive for you just get the decorating done as far as possible down the back with the radiator in place.1 -
Why do you need to take the radiator off?You can drop the end of the pasted wallpaper run behind it, yes its a bit fiddly, but free. I've used a grabber (the sort us old ladies use to pick stuff off the floor) with soft cloth gripped to smooth and stick it down, or something similar like an overhead dusting brush. You can buy a radiator brush (long handle, bent end) to paint behind it. If its the newer "boxed" style of radiator I'd just paper neatly to where it touches the wall, maybe cut the paper a tiny bit longer to tuck behind. It may not be 100% perfect behind, but even if you miss a bit, as long as it looks neat from the top and sides no one will see it.Whenever you move radiators, or any of the wet system, there is a possibility of a leak. Radiators are usually fixed on 2 brackets, they should just lift off, but from experience things move and they can be stuck. If you loosen them or pull a bit of plaster off theres another job.1

You can also use a small long handled paint roller to either paint (or roll the wallpaper down) behind the radiator.
Much cheaper than 2 plumber callouts!• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

We had ours taken off as there was at least 20 years of wall paper still on behind it, we were gonna replace it anyway, and we were having the walls skimmed. Fortunately, we know a man who did it for free, but even so it was only half an hours work. Wouldn't expect to pay more than £100 all in.

Should be less than an hour's work each time, so it'll be the plumber's hourly rate, so £70-100 a time.0
