Ending 25% single persons council tax discount

My adult son wants to move in with me soon so I will have to notify the council of this so they can cancel my 25% single persons council tax discount.i have looked at the forms online and note that they ask for the previous address of the person moving in.This has got me a little concerned as I have no idea if his mother that he was living with had him registered as living there, although I'm estranged from her i wouldn't want to cause her any problems.
Has this happened to anyone else,I wonder what would happen if I don't add the previous address and just fill the rest of the form in with direct debit Details etc.I'm a non direct debit payer at the moment that just pays online monthly.I'm hoping that they will just be happy to have more money from me.Any thoughts appreciated

I did this recently (took in a lodger) and did not give his previous address. (I think I emailed them about the change rather than filling in the form.) No question, no problems, nothing.

Hi thanks I haven't completed the online form yet but may try just to not include the previous address when it comes to that bit, unless the form won't proceed if missing a bit of information out

I suppose if the form doesn't allow me to miss out the previous address I could say no fixed abode

Doesn't sound like a "you" problem anyway tbh.

    Why not just ask her?
