APCOA Parking Charge Notice

I've just received a Parking Charge Notice from APCOA for illegal parking at a university.
I went up to the barrier on arrival and told them why I was there, and the gate lifted and they allowed me in (photo evidence is on the letter).
I then parked in a safe area (not on double lines or anything), and as I've exited 2 hours later, they've photod my car again leaving.
You can probably make out that it is me driving in the photo, but only if you knew me well enough.
They're asking £50 (£25 if paid within 14 days). Has all the usual nonsense on the letter that everything was signposted, and that by entering into the car park I entered into a contract, etc.
Best way to appeal this one?

Then use this appeal to beat APCOA
This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do NOT try the usual Group Nexus Trick of asking for driver details in order to get around the fact your NTK does not comply with POFA. As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win @ POPLA. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code where you will auto withdraw
Nothing else as APCOA is currently non POFA2 -
It definitely wasn't illegal, no laws were broken, and it's APCOA, not Apoca
Definitely do not reveal who was driving, even if it seemed obvious
Appeal as keeper using the likely no keeper liability argument based on APCOA not complying with Pofa2012, after checking your pcn against the ones in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum first
Pofa2012 is probably the best option for you, not the circumstances or about who was driving
I would also suggest a complaint to the university about it because their barrier employee gave access, but possibly driver should have registered the vehicle, but didn't ( or pay but didn't )
What was the alleged contravention listed on the NTK PCN letter ?2 -

Can you show:
- a picture of the sign (there may be one in evidence in APCOAs photos online)
- two pics (both sides) of the PCN with dates and uni location showing but redact your data and any QR code, your VRM and PCN ref.
Thankyou.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
