Morning all, sunny! Well you all have been busy haven't you? Me, kind of, I've been to the allotment and planted stuff out, I'll go tomorrow to water again and check it hasn't been eaten. The guy came yesterday to dig up the old concrete path so that's done, next job is hopefully get half the living room plastered. Today is potter in the garden, and go and do some plant swapping later on. Pork chops with rosemary and garlic salt and mushroom risotto for supper so I may as well put the mushrooms to soak now, saves faffing later. Might even go to the Hellmouth [ B&Q] for some supplies.Camelot, I feel very sorry for anyone who has That Relative or even more than one. So annoying they made the funeral about them. And snoozer, also, how annoying and disheartening that they had to pie to get a place, they must do that regularly, is there a way you can highlight this for everyone? WL, glad the wedding went well. Allie, looks lovely, hopefully you're all recharged now or if you're anything like me, need another holiday
remmie, don't suppose it's worht pointing out to her that most women could do without that kind of thing so it's no great shakes to wait longer...Ruby, it's a shame your mum is needing the extra help but lucky you are there to sort it out for her..And fingers crossed the sw sort Robs family out...They seem to be looking at his money like their pocket money. You can't adopt him can you?
Gers, I joined you in sloth yesterday. We ended up watching the rest of White Lotus and then started on Long Way Home...Charlie Boorman has grown on me over the years, he was a right tool to start with...Anyway, take care all, shout out to the MIA, nanny, bella, topsy et al....

Taff, my dd has told her once she starts she's got to put up with them for 40+ years, but it doesnt make much difference. We'll ask her again in a few years, maybe she will be glad she had to wait. She just hates being different to others.

Morning everyone just hung some bedding out it should dry it’s bright and breezy .Scarlet I hope your tap fitting goes smoothly and your right it’s always something.AA what a lovely picture you go to some lovely places Ruby that’s shocking I don’t know how they can stand back and let that happen how can they not see how much he enjoys going out and yet haven’t even the decency to pay for a cup of tea . Remmie if only we could all tell our younger selves not to worry so much but things like that are a big deal at that age I hope she is alright. Hope you get a better nights sleep SO . WL the wedding sounds great pleased you had a good time. Gers I was another that seemed to have a day of sloth I usually meet my friend on a Monday for a coffee and a catch up but she’s away on holiday we will have plenty to talk about next week and I will get round to getting my backside into gear in here today . Plenty of chicken left over from yesterday we will have a sandwich at lunchtime of it and some sort of concoction tonight I’m sure I can think of something I haven’t done to bad three meals for two people of a reduced to two pounds chicken bargain . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Morning everyone
The wind has dropped here at last, it's been gusty all weekend. I got soaked yesterday in a 'shower' waiting for the bus home...standing under our new 'bus shelter' with another lady...we just had to laugh. I got some plants at our new B and M so will get those planted today. We don't start back at school until tomorrow.
Little one will arrive later for what she is calling 'the longest sleepover'...8 nights! As much as I will love having her, it's quite stressful as she can get ill so quickly, as you all know. Fingers crossed!
Remmie...yes, once they start, she might wish they hadn't, I had terrible pain from the beginning with mine....but at her age girls just want to be the same as everyone else.
Rosy snap little one and I are having meatballs and spaghetti for tea...she's written out a menu!
Right best get on, I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thank you @Scarlet for starting the thread. Apart from one brief, light shower yesterday afternoon we had sunshine all day. Sun all the way again today and no rain forecast, but cooler than we've been used to of late.
Schools have re-opened today after the break, apart from the Academy over the road that's closed for an Inset day so were no parking shenanigans this morning but I did see one dad looking rather bewildered when he parked up - he obviously hadn't realised.
Yesterday's "must do" job ended up being cleaning the TV stand, a glass and chrome console table that shows up every fingermark and bit of dust. The "would like to" was getting all the cables into some kind of order; it's not quite what I had in mind but definitely better than it was! Other than that, it was a gentle pottering day. I had a long catch-up phone call with DS who's nursing a stubborn chest infection that's reluctant to leave, despite having completed a 14-day course of anti-Bs, more prescribed.
This morning I'm the guardian of my NDN's house keys until her DD arrives at lunchtime. The door curtain could do with a wash and I'll bung the shower curtain in with it to make up the load. Tea tonight is a ham salad and a MW sponge pudding for afters.
@Scarlet - I hope your DH can fix the WM door.
Lovely pic @AA, glad you had a good weekend.
@Ruby - I hope your DM feels a bit better today and that you have success with a new gardener and cleaner for her. And yes, that was an early rude awakening by the power company.
@remmie - Your DGD will catch up with her peers eventually but, as you say, at her age all the reassurances in the world aren't the same as having her DM around.
@SO - Sorry to hear you've had another poor night's sleep, let's hope tonight will be better.
@WL - So pleased the wedding went well, sounds like a good weekend was had by all.
Let's hope the new week will be a good one for us all. Take care, hugs as usual. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Good morning 😊
We have sunshine, so a load has gone out on the washing line. I’m keeping everything crossed it stays that way, so I can at least get stuff dry.
I’ve been in the kitchen this morning. Tonight, we’re having curry, so I’ve got chicken in one slow cooker, and a sweet potato and chickpea curry in the other. I have an electric rice cooker, but we were gifted a Sistema microwave cooker by one of our neighbours yesterday, so I’m intrigued to see how that will turn out, and have the rice soaking in it, now.
I have made up some popcorn, as we like to snack, and it’s handy to take a handful whenever we pass by. I’m also about to make a spring onion soup for lunch. That won’t take long, as I will chop and chuck everything in the soup maker - I do love my gadgets.
Another thing I love, is Kilner jars. My family would say I have an addiction to them, but I think they look nicer than open packets. Every so often, the seals might need replacing, so one of my tasks today was to clean the outside of the jars, and check the seals.
Sticking to my plan of sorting through one storage item per day, I’m going to have a coffee break, then the plan is to go through the dresser drawers in the dining room. There’s only three of them - cutlery/tablecloths/napkins, medication, and junk drawers. The first two shouldn’t take too long, but the third is full and overflowing, to the point we can’t shut it properly. It’s the drawer where you put anything, so that it’s out of sight, hence, I have no idea what’s in it.
@remmie I feel for your granddaughter. I didn’t start my periods until I was almost fifteen, and the girls in my peer group did make me feel some sort of way, as if I wasn’t normal, to the point I started lying about having my monthlies, even to my own mother. Of course, I couldn’t keep up the lie, but at the time, I just wanted to fit in. I look back, and it’s silly now, but back then, it was a big deal.
Hope you all have a good day 😊
