Other than chronic medical conditions, the travel insurance through my bank only wants to know about GP / hospital visits in the previoius 6 months. Some insurers almost seem to demand your life history.1

How do you go about it with your medical history?
As in I've had a few operations - knees, arms & I'm on as-&-when prescription medication for migraines. Other than that I can't think of anything but is that the sort of thing you'd need to tell them?
Do you get prompted to divulge such info or may there not even be a step in the process to offer that info (yet maybe when it comes time to claim they'll tell you they won't pay out because you should've)?

The online sites will ask questions perhaps like have you had surgery, what was it for , how long ago and whether there was any follow up treatment. Some answers will affect the premium, others won't but all questions must be answered truthfully.
As you're an infrequent traveller then I'd suggest trying to get a quote for a single trip on the comparison sites on here and see what happens. Just becasue you get a quote, you don't need to follow it up if you don't want to.1
