college fund

hi folks
currently have 2 kids aged 13 & 11 and would like to have wee nestegg aside for college/uni. started a 10-20 year plan about 12 years ago but only for £20/month and is doing v badly. worked out all the £20's put in and over all has made v littel profit. If I cash it in now will get about £3000 and am trying to see if I would be better to do so and invest said money somewhere better to get max return over next 5-6 years. Could continue to pay in and could probable increase to about £40 per month
Already have an ISA in my own name but only tend to use it to save for a while then withdraw as required ie xmas and hols
Thanks
Katyk
