Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. According to the forecast I expected to get up to rain this morning but we have blue sky and sunshine. Will it last!
Yesterday was lovely, warm and sunny. I got my arris into gear and had the promised bus trip to Ilkley. It was really busy, the nice weather had people out in force. The cafes etc with outdoor seating were packed.. A dress, which I hadn't intended buying when I set off,, found it's way into my bag. Maxi length in royal blue and white. I am really pleased with my impulse purchase. The intention of the trip was to buy a 70th b'day present for my SI and that took more searching for. I eventually settled on a really pretty watch, hope she likes it.
Supermarket Sweep this morning with DS. I'm getting better at this as I managed to get round before him last week and was sitting waiting for him by the entrance!
YL you are not alone abandoning the radio. My Bob always put the radio on and it stayed on all day. Now I don't put it on much at all (apart from Tony B on Saturday morning!) I prefer to put on a cd if I want background music. The mood I am in determines what disc I put on. It can range from Beautiful South, Snatam Kaur to Bon Jovi and lots of others inbetween!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for those in need. RUBY the SW sounds to be on the case now for you, fingers crossed both you and Rob get a result. I have a picture in mind of him,, I wonder if I am right! Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning again - it's a fine morning here, lovely sunshine.
We might get out for a walk this morning, not too far though, Dh tires easily.
Not a lot going on today.
Hope everyone's ok and has a good day.
Take care folks.16 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Scarlet.
It looks bright and sunny outside, but I can hear a brisk breeze.
Today I'm going to change the sofa throw and cushion covers, I'm fed up with the ones that are on, and it'll give a different look. Later I'll do a roast lamb dinner, the lamb is from Easter and is ready cooked and sliced in the freezer.
My dgd is on my mind, dd says she is saying she doesn't want to return to her boarding school today, so it's going to be tough for them. I'll ring her tonight to see what's happening. Theres obviously still a problem.
No other plans for today, will see what the day brings.
Camelot, funerals always seem to bring out the worst in families, why I dont understand as it should be celebrating a life.
Ruby, sorry to hear there's still problems with Robs money, that's a lot to be owed.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning All
No sunshine here, just rain. It stayed dry all morning yesterday, the washing had a good blow and was half dry, it's dry now and all put away. The bedding has been washed but will probably have to stay inside today.
I got quite a lot done at allotment 2 yesterday, there's been a big delivery of compost so I snaffled some of that and took out some of the big clay sods in the bed. Hopefully the rabbits will stay away - they've already eaten the peas!
Thanks for all your comments about the funeral, I've spoken to my Aunt's son - he's got a heck of a job ahead of him sorting out the estate with his nasty sister watching him like a hawk. It seems she is after anyone who speaks with him, can't believe anyone can be so hateful.
Shame on the family for not giving Rob the money he's entitled to Ruby, hope it's all sorted out for you soon.
Bad luck with the carpet cleaner Yorklass, nothing is easy is it!
Sounds like a good shopping trip TA.
Hope you can get to the bottom of your DGD's worries remmie.
Missing you Nanny!
Off to Costco this morning then the day is my own to slob about. Take care. XX14 -
Morning all
Up early for me on a Sunday as I have to take my mum for a hospital appointment just after 10 and I need at least two cups of tea first,it’s her eye jab appointment which really takes it out of her so she will probably get to bed for an hour or so afterwards.
It looks to be a nice day so I think I will go out and sweep the patio later on there’s a lot of leaves etc that have fallen. I have stripped the bed this morning and got the bedding in the wm which can be hung out after.
Thanks again for all the good thoughts for Rob I shall get on the case tomorrow again and chase up the money owed and some spending money for him, TA I would love to put a photo up of him but it wouldn’t be allowed, but I can say he has such an infectious smile from ear to ear, he is always happy and laughing I have never known him angry of upset in over 13 years.
Bbq for dinner tonight, dd is working a late shift so just OH and I here for dinner, there is some coleslaw and pasta salad left from yesterday so we can have that too.
Remmie i hope your dgd gets on ok bless her xx
Have good days all and take care xx14 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons - enjoy your walk x
Pinch, punch and white rabbits etc.
SS for me too @TravellingAbuela - I’m taking Mum this morning which always takes longer as she insists on pointing things out to me! Like I can’t see for myself grrrr. Once home it’s more DIY - hoping to finish DD’s floor and start sanding DS2’s windows. Tbf we spent about three hours cutting and edging the lawn yesterday so won’t mind a day indoors today!
Sorry Rob’s family are being difficult again @Redruby1231 - hope the situation can be resolved this week x
That’s a worry @remmie - hope DD can find out what’s going on with DGD x
Have a good day everyone

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. I hope that you and OH have a good walk.Sorry to hear about your DGD's ongoing problems at school @Remmie, I hope that your DD can sort things out for once and all.Walking may or may not happen here today, it's still very misty and wet. Yesterday brought horrible weather, at one point there was a short bout of torrential rain. I went out in the morning, before the rain, to go to the tip and buy a couple of things at the local Co-op, it's fully stocked again after weeks of mostly empty shelves. I don't use it much but it's handy for the odd item needed 'now'.My bathroom basin has been slow to drain for weeks, getting a plumber here is rather difficult so I've been putting off doing anything about, especially as it's only used for face and hand washing. Yesterday I saw a wee video about using bicarb, vinegar and boiling water to clear gunk so, at bedtime, took up a flask of boiling water and the other stuff. And it worked! I may do it again tonight just to clear any remaining stuff but I'm delighted at how well it worked. This morning I've been doing financial things, shifting money around and checking accounts. I'll do the monthly stuff on Tuesday as some transactions only take place on the second business day. Meanwhile I'm sorting out the accumulation of assorted paperwork loitering on my coffee table. Then I'll rewatch Dr Who.Hugs to all especially our poorlies and the missing.13

Morning everyone it’s bright for now I managed to get all my washing dry again yesterday and a couple of short dog walks in my little dog can’t walk as far now so she’s happy tootling about for a bit and she lets you know when she’s had enough I was looking after my friends little dog through the day yesterday then another friend asked last minute if I would have hers overnight to be fair her dog spends more time at my house than hers so I ended up with three I have to keep busy or I would nod off they all lie about snoring and they say it’s a dogs life . I’ve got a chicken in cooking I will do some veg and Yorkshire puddings later that’s today sorted . Ruby I’m sorry to hear robs family are been difficult it’s shocking that they are allowed to get away with it and he’s very lucky to have you it doesn’t bare thinking about if he was left to them to look after him . We have got 3 new fish to go in the tank after jaws died before our holiday the lad in the pet shop were we bought him from was just newly opened and that was fifteen years ago so I think he lived a good age he had the tank to himself that’s why he was so big and he was part canibal these won’t be as big unless one of them turns out to be another thug the grandchildren have called them after our triplets to much amusement and it gives the hubby something else to moan about cleaning them out . Must wash the kitchen floor again before I do anything otherwise a lazy day . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Good morning 😊
First of June, it is.
I had a busy day yesterday, so didn’t post.
Today, will be more of a pottering sort of day, rather than anything specific. I have sorted both a chicken, and vegan chicken casserole for the slow cookers, and added pot barley, carrots and onions. A bit later, I will make some dumplings and peel potatoes for either roasties or mash, depending on what the others want.
I’m debating going outside to spray the weeds, but it keeps clouding over, so I have a feeling it might rain again anytime soon. My dad bought some tomato plants over, so I need to repot those, and give the garden a bit of a clean. Other than that, there’s not much else planned, so we might watch a musical this afternoon.
@RedRuby1231 my mum has been having injections in her eye. Now, she’s got an appointment in June, for them to insert an implant that dissolves over time, which should help improve her sight. Hopefully, the injection for your mum isn’t too bad, this morning.
Hope you all have a good day 😊13 -
Morning everyone
It's drizzling here and feels cooler - yesterday was warm, sunny and very windy. At least i got all the washing dry.
Little one stayed on Friday night so we went to the library yesterday morning - chose her books and did some colouring. DD picked her up at lunchtime as they were going to a baby shower - can't remember if I told you all that little one thought the mum-to-be would go upstairs, have a shower and come back downstairs with a baby! Nice painless way to get one!
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning and do his 'laptop jobs', then I'll walk along to our new B and M Home store. It opened on Friday in what was Homebase...I'm looking forward to the gardening section.
DD is going to Agadir tomorrow to lie on a sunlounger so I have little one for 8 nights...fingers crossed she'll stay well. She's had no more of the sudden collapsing episodes, but we have to carry ready filled syringes with emergency sugar feed, just in case.
Eldest DD is in Madrid for a long weekend, for the hen party of her Italian friends' sister and to see Ed Sheeran last night, which had been amazing. Her hayfever has been awful all weekend, she's googled it and apparently the pollen count in some parts of Spain, including Madrid, are the highest they've ever been.
This afternoon will be a peaceful one...recharging my batteries! It's now pouring with rain and the wind is getting up again but I'll be cosy in my little summerhouse.
Remmie I hope things get sorted for your granddaughter
Hope everyone has a good day x13
