Leave this to a friend based in the same country. Our banks don't work on simplicity and logic any longer, and sending huge wodges of cash (especially in a forgein currency) around will trigger alarms in multiple areas.

I wouldn't go anywhere near this.  There is more than enough evidence on this forum that friends & family and money do not and should not be mixed, as one party often ends up getting their fingers burned.  Add in the risk of tax liabilities and/or potentially becoming stuck with a parcel of land that you do not want would be more than enough reason for me to say no.

I wouldn't go near this either. Where's the guarantee your "friend" will actually buy the land back off you or otherwise isn't just trying to offload an otherwise unsellable block of land? That issue aside, the complexity and expense of the multiple transactions required to do this would make it a pain as well.

Bear in mind that on the banking board, some people report having their bank accounts closed and markers placed against them, leading to problems getting credit and new bank accounts, where there is a suspicion of money laundering.

So in addition to all the complexities that others have mentioned relating to the actual purchase, you could be risking your own ability to bank and obtain credit here.
