Morning, thanks Gers, for starting..
It's fine and mild here, hope it stays that way.
I've got a bit of shopping to do today, when I get my list organised, and our boiler man is coming this morning. We need new taps in the bathroom and he might fit them.
He is semi retired but does jobs like that for long-standing customers.
Nothing else going on except the usual housework.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days.
Take care folks.11 -
Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
Not sure about the weather - the sun was shining but it's disappeared atm, hopefully it will make an appearance this morning as I would like to get in the garden.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. x12 -
Morning allLooks like it will be a warm one today.Making Nigella's peanut butter cake today. Yummy.Maybe have visits from people who want to buy a couple of things I've put on Faceache. Also DS's sofa has sold that I put on there and they are, hopefully, coming today too. His new sofa has arrived so he's desperate for it to go to make some room. Will get out into the garden too this afternoon.Have a good day everyone x12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. This is the first morning I've got up to no evidence of o/n rain for a while and the sun is shining! I don't think it's forecast to last beyond the w/e but one can but hope!
I'm reliving my mis spent youth with Sound of the 60's as usual for a Saturday morning. A different memory with every record. Those were the days!
I should venture further afield today as I need to buy a 70th B'day gift for my SIL There's nowhere in town so I may get the bus to Ilkley for a browse there. A treat of a Fat Rascal from Betty's may find it's way home with me!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. I hope NAN is just having a break from us and there's nothing seriously amiss in her life. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
@TravellingAbuela re 60s music. I think it was Izzy that mentioned Boom radio quite a while back and I've been a convert ever since. I hear songs on there that I haven't heard for 50 years or so and know every single word but I can't remember what I went into the next room for. Try it, I have it on all the time here x12

Good morning
Thanks for starting us Gers. I have missed posting the last couple of days, I find if I dont post while having my first cuppa the day just whizzes by.
I did succumb to going shopping, it was getting harder as supplies dwindled. Still, all stocked up now, although I bet if I ask OH what he wants for tea he'll say "what have we got in?"
TA, I also love listening to Sounds of the Sixties. I listen on catch up while doing the chores.
No plans for today, so have a good Saturday everyone. Take care.12 -

Those were the days!I'm listening too - Silence is Golden took me right back. Some lovely memories in that show, and also some not so lovely but they are my life.Today may not be a rotten as the last two have been. Rain has stopped for now though I bet it's not the last of it, the only upside is that the temperature is mild and the wind has died down. My big lace cap hydrangea tree has taken a battering, mind you it does need a hefty pruning later this year. I need a tall chap to do it!No plans for the day. I've taken a couple of food items out of the freezer. Liver for today, sausages and red cabbage for tomorrow and Monday. I've got plenty of vegetables to use up and will have mash with both. Comfort food of the highest kind.I hope that everyone is doing OK, getting out and about and enjoying life. Hugs to all.

Morning All
Showery this morning but fairly mild and the wind has dropped. It was quite nice yesterday so the grass had a cut and I got washing dried when I got home from work, just a couple of things to iron but that can wait.
The drive to and from my Aunt's funeral was fine, we went in DS1's electric car, I was worried we would be hanging about for ages waiting for it to charge but it was pretty quick with the superchargers at service stations. By the time we had visited the facilities and got a coffee it was pretty much done. Not sure I could be bothered with the faffing about on various phone apps though!
The funeral itself was fine but horrid cousin and her son had to spoil everything. Shame on them. The son refused to read at the church and wrote a poem that he read at the crematorium that pretty much said how much they disliked my Aunt and didn't like anyone or anything she was involved with. I could see things were going to get nasty so we left the wake and made our way home. It'll take a while to process everything.
On to today - allotments to visit and a bit of shopping to get and I must return a couple of library books. I've got some sweetcorn plants to put in at allotment 2 so hope the rain stays off for a while.
Hope you are all well and have a good weekend. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off. Yesterday's weather turned out to be very good; after an overcast start the sun appeared and stayed all day, there was a gentle warm breeze and no rain.
At one point it was quite muggy. Today looks to be a repeat, with top temps of 23 deg and lows of 10. Tomorrow and Monday don't look too bad either although it will be cooler, than back to changeable.
I had a walk to the Co-op for odds and ends and was pleased to see their stocks seem to be back to normal. I treated myself to a YS bunch of sweet williams (£1.84) and, to my surprise, when I got home found there were two bunches in the packaging so I have two vases of them, one for the long stems and another for the short ones. They're mainly red with a few pinks and purples and a couple of white with crimson edges. Friday admin done in the afternoon. And I had a text from the pharmacy saying my meds are ready for collection which I'll do some time this coming week.
Today I'm tackling the carpet cleaning. I'd like to think I can do it all today but it may be half today and half tomorrow, depending on how quickly it dries. Once that's done, there will be just the radiators left to paint and the living room will be finished. There's a new Wickes opening on Friday (replacing a Homebase) so I'll have a toddle down there for a tin of radiator paint and can combine that with Sainsburys, should I need anything from there.
Tea tonight will be a cheese & onion crispbake with salad followed by an egg custard tart. I'd ordered a pack of two but got a sub of four (refund for price difference already received) and the use by date was yesterday so the last one will have to be eaten today. That's my excuse anyway!
As others have mentioned, I'm another one that loves 60s music from my teenage years. DH and I always used to have the radio on during the day but, since his passing, I never think of putting it on. Isn't that strange?
@camelot - Shame on cousin and son indeed. If they disliked your aunt so much, why did they bother attending the funeral? I was always taught if you can't say anything good about someone, then don't say anything. I don't blame you for leaving before things got nasty.
Must get on, that carpet won't clean itself - if only! I wish you all a pleasant weekend whatever you have in mind to do or not do, as the case may be. Take care, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning everyone Gers your garden looks lovely it was lovely and sunny here it seems to be hiding behind clouds now I’ve got a line of washing out and a line of towels it better not rain although it is forcast for later this afternoon. Camelot that makes me sad why do people have to be so nasty you did the right thing in coming away. I’ve been to Lidl and picked up some bargains two half price chickens and two packs of half price pork chops are now sitting in the freezer. We had a bit of a daft half hour in the charity shop yesterday we were posing with all the hats on and the manager put our photos on there Facebook page we couldn’t have looked that bad we went on to sell 3 big wedding hats and a couple of fascinators and we had a bumper day for takings we have decided we are not the chunky monkeys we are glamour models . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10
