Truly Madly Baby Advice

Hi
I have just had my second child (now nearly 9 months old) and am thinking about wether to return to work or not.
Have seen a company called Truly Madly Baby who do party plans based on childrens products. I've done Avon in the past and enjoy selling. Thinking about giving this a try but they want £150 to buy initial party pack.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
All advice gratefully received.

My partner went to one of those parties. Nice stuff, but a bit expensive for what it is. Partner only really bought suff as she felt obliged to.0

without wishing to put you off TMB is the lowest commission of all of them on the party planning circuit and IMO not well known enough to carry off its expensive items (unlike Usborne, Virgin Vie, Avon, Body Shop, Ann Summers, who have established reputations). I know a lot of people who are reps for various different companies if you want some more info on the others. Not wishing to put you off as TMB sells some nice stuff, just that theres loads of companies to choose from so dont jump straight in with the first one you stumble across.0

Hello
I am the owner of Truly Madly Baby and just wanted to add some info for you. Our items are sold at RRP and we do have a wide range of products which start at £1.99 and top end are £149.99, so there is plenty of choice between affordable and expensive products. The range is also very comprehensive giving the customer a choice across a whole range of practical, unique and great quality products - anyone can go to the High Street and get the regular bits they need - we provide something a bit different brought to the home environment, not to mention the social aspect of meeting other mums.
Our commission does start at 15%, but consider the extras you have to pay with other companies such as postage, stationery etc. They all add up and should be take away from the 20%+ commissions offered to give you the real picture. We also have a structure for you to earn more commission if you so wish. Most important is the fact that all of the major companies mentioned will target you and will put you under pressure to sell - we DO NOT target our consultants, as the majority of our consultants are mums first and foremost - we support that.
We are building our brand and have a great advantage of having appeared on BBC's Dragons' Den which is currently beign repeated on Sky on a regular basis as well as the great PR that surrounds our brand and story. For a company that is only just 3 years old we have had a great journey. The business is run by mums for mums - and why not have a read of some of our comments on the netmums thread at http://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/showthread.php?t=37478&page=56 - I hope you will see how friendly and personal things are.
Finally on the price of the kit, our kits start at £99 so please do let me know if you would like a pack sending as it would be good for you to get the whole picture of what we can offer.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
