Side access for maintenance in block of flats. Am always puzzled with terrace house and flat with I only one entrance. How is maintenance being carried out. If flat is above commercial property how are repairs being carried out. Thanks

My first house was a terrace with the only access through the front door. I don't remember any issues and I had my garden renovated and that included the demolition of a garden shed and a new brick wall. Guess that was all done via the front door, the hallway, the dining room and the utility room - it was a long time ago.0

Most terraced houses have a kitchen door that leads on to a small garden or courtyard. Quite often that courtyard then leads on to an alley that runs behind all the courtyards providing access to the courtyards.0

Had a terrace like that. The worst thing was dragging dirty bins through the house 🤢0

Many victorian terraced houses in London have no rear access. And many ex-council terraces house have rear access. We now live in one and I don’t think I can go back to having no rear access!0
