Old Sky HD box - Sky Go App Football?

I have an old style Sky HD box, Sky want me to update to Sky Q for free but my Dish is a communal Dish and I don’t think it supports Sky Q, hence my reason for not updating to Sky Q yet. I’m not anti Sky Q. I have asked numerous times if my HA will update the Dish (transponder) but nothing has happened. Sky are telling me I won’t be able to watch the station that will be showing most of the Premiership games next season. Does anyone know if I would be able to watch via the Sky Go App? I assume Sky would not be able to change the communal dish.

$ky HD box... one sat cable connected or two of them?

NB There should be no need to alter dish and LNB assuming it is a substantial communal system with many users (and not a shared dish for, say, just 4 dwellings).

Just replacements and/or add-ons to the existing multiswitch(es) to enable dSCR single cable operation (*) would be required.  Then a few cables moved to connect your dwelling to a suitable outlet of said multiswitch.

$ky staff may not have access to do that (though sometimes they may)?  Your Building Management company (Factors in Scotland) may need to arrange to do that; and it could be chargeable.

    *  $ky HD boxes can work in dSCR single cable mode as well as $ky Q.

I disagree, Sky Q requires a Wideband LNB, if the OP had a working HD box it is certain the existing LNB will not be Sky Q compatible.

Unfortunately it is for only three dwellings and at present I am the only user. Nextdoor has their own Dish, not sure the HA know it was put up and the other neighbour does not have Sky, only an old TV.  Sky have said they would be able to fit the Sky Q but I have a feeling when the poor installers arrive they will say they cannot. I might have them come out anyway just to prove to Sky that unless the HA swap the Transponder I cannot have Sky Q. Friends swapped last year but they live in their own house. I’m sure I will enjoy Sky Q if they can install it.

Two cables, Sat 1 and Sat 2 does that sound promising?

Disagree as much as you like.  You are wrong!  Q supports wideband and dSCR mode inputs from communal multiswitch units.  HD supports universal/ legacy and dSCR inputs.

OP:  With three dwellings $ky Q can install a Hybrid LNB --- two wideband for your Q box and 4 universal / legacy to the other two dwellings (one or two cables each).
THAT, however, assumes neither of your neighbours sharing the dish have not beaten you to it.

Clear close up photo of the LNB and cables on the dish you use would help to tell that, perhaps.

Op, the Sky app works independently of your dish so won't be affected.
