Debt collects - Debt Recovery Plus from overstaying at the dentist.

Hi - have a letter demanding £170 from Debt Recovery Plus for a parking notice from Euro Car Parks.

I had a dentist appointment on the 15/10/24 which went wrong and my 1-hour appointment turned to 2.5 hours. I appealed, appealed with POPLA, all rejected. I even sent a letter-headed email from my dental practise as evidence about what happened and nothing.

The car park in question, can only accept physical tickets from the machine with a maximum stay of 1.5 hours (you can park as long as you want through the app). The 'PayByPhone' app doesn't work. Which I pointed out (the code location on the app doesn't work). I also sent screenshots of this, so there was no way I could have extended the time!

I really don't feel like I should pay this amount, but what can I now do? I've emailed Euro Car Parks multiple times with no response.

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters,  including the letters from DCBL

    Do not pay

Read the 4th post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad,  about ignoring the debt collectors

Come back to this thread if or when you receive a formal Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice,  or z court claim

I doubt that the unrelated dentist incident would be of help in regards to the parking contract,  but a judge may be sympathetic in the future

We will help you if those latter letters arrive in the post

Is the car park connected to and for sole use of people visiting the dentist?
