Im attempting to use the wifi from my phone on my chromebook, so i can use the laptop in the summerhouse. Its a big garden and the signal is too weak. Im obviously not tech savvy and just cant do it despite following internet tutorials, I cant even remember the pin although Ive managed to change the password. Any help would be greatly appreciated, tia.

Do you have a decent mobile signal on your phone when in the summerhouse?
Could you please confirm the model of Samsung phone you have? Might make giving instructions on setting up a Wi-fi hotspot easier.0 -

OK I'll do it quick and see if that works. Take
Settings
Connections
Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
Turn Mobile Hotspot "on" (this will ask you to confirm that you are turning Wi-fi "off")
Note the Network name of your phone (change it if you don't like it)
Set a password for your hotspot (nothing too complicated)
Hit save.
You should now be able to "see" the hotspot on your Chromebook as available to connect to.
Assuming you have a decent data allocation on your phone contract?
Unless it's plentiful, don't go streaming the new Captain America film via your phone because:
a) it will eat all your data quickly
b) it's dreadful.

A PIN on what device and at what point in the process.0

Pin for Google on Chrome after email address and password0

If you just want to test out the hotspot then login to the Chromebook as a Guest, think it's Browse as Guest from the first screen.
I'm struggling with the lost PIN thing, I haven't used a Chromebook for several years but I thought the PIN could be set so that you didn't have to keep entering the password on the device. In other words, if you have User Id (your Google email address) and password entered, the PIN isn't required for login.
Not how it works?0 -
On the PIN unlock screen, look for the option that says ‘Sign in with password’ (usually at the bottom of the screen). Click that and enter your Google account password. This bypasses the PIN entirely.1
