Hi,
My wife is on statutory sick pay. She would otherwise be earning enough to qualify for tax free childcare and 30 funded hours.
From what I can see from HMRC (https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/tax-free-childcare-technical-manual/tfc10500), we are still eligible. However, the question when reconfirming eligibility on our childcare account is:

"Will you earn at least £195.36 a week, before tax, for the next 3 months?
Will you earn at least £195.36 a week, before tax, for the next 3 months? It doesn't matter if you don't expect to earn this amount in any weeks you're on maternity, paternity, neonatal care or adoption leave, Carer's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Incapacity Benefit or Severe Disablement Allowance. If you expect to be on these for the next three months select no and continue with your application."
Note this makes no mention of SSP. If I select 'no' it says we're not eligible. Should I select 'yes' even though SSP is not listed in the explanatory text?

Yes I linked to that in my post (albeit I made a mistake and the link doesn't work).
My point is that I think she's eligible under those terms, but the answer to the eligibility question would still technically be 'no'. Should I answer 'yes' anyway?0
