Aphid damage on Buddleja - For RHS
I have just come across this article from the RHS
You can read all about it on RHS page, but in summary
Buddleja leaves affected by aphids show unusual puckering and
discolouration, caused by aphids feeding on the undersides of the
leaves. Over time, the damage curls the leaf and can create pale patches
that look similar to disease symptoms caused by a virus.
As part of our scientific research,
we would like to know where buddleja aphid damage has been seen. If
you’ve seen symptoms on buddleja plants, please take photos of the upper
and lower sides of the leaves to submit to our survey.
So, MSE gardeners, any spare time to help out on a scientific survey?

Mine aren't, but as reported elsewhere, my black aphids don't match the RHS's green bugs.Working_Mum said:My buddleja's are pest free

Just say, "No!"2 -
Interesting. I don't have a buddleja myself but I see plenty of them on my walk to work so I'll keep my eye out
Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.2 -
I follow several facebook gardening pages and over the last month or so, I reckon about every tenth post is "why are all these aphids on my buddleja?"0
