Looking for some advice!
we are selling our shared ownership flat and purchasing our new home. This processes started in January and there have been issues all the way through.
However, 3 weeks ago we were told our buyer was ready to exchange. But… the buyers solicitor has turned down two completion dates and stated to choose a date in June. Our seller gave 2nd June over a week ago and our solicitor sent this over to theirs.
Since then we have had no response from the buyers solicitor.

The buyer has been chasing daily as has our solicitor. Our onward purchase has set multiple deadlines that have been missed and is now preparing to withdraw unless we exchange.

What can we do?!? We are about to loose our new home because our buyers solicitor is completely unresponsive to anyone.

We was originally given a deadline of April 11th to complete on our new home but the buyers solicitor has constantly refused to respond to emails and calls.

    I feel for you
I had similar problems with an online conveyancing company called PCS Legal (naming and shaming here, oh yes) they were so bad in the end I actually gave them the sack and started all over again with a local solicitor. Luckily for me this was land purchase and no chain but it was still incredibly worrying that they didn't respond or would respond with 'We're on the case" followed by nothing done.
If your buyers solicitor is local they should go there and bang on the desk until they get a result

Unfortunately the buyer lives quite far away so are unable to attend in person. It’s been a week now since we sent a revised completion date and yet again no response.
The threat of involving the SRA and ombudsman has done nothing so far either.

My question is how can they operate like this? How can a legal firm not provide any service and potentially be a direct cause of financial loss for us and our buyer.

We are fully out of ideas at this stage and are hoping our onward seller will again extend the deadline. As we are now 2 months behind the original deadline I don’t think this will happen.

    Who made the threats?
only your buyer has a contract with their solicitor/

Why have they not followed through with the threats?
