Hi
We're taking the train to Netherlands - Amsterdam in September - do we still need to renew update passwords as per Martins 2 point warning.. Both are in date. Date of issue May 2016 to 2026 and Jan 2016 to 2026 respectively..
Any ideas or will we be OK on the Eurostar?

Was the passport issued less than10 years ago (as at September 2025)? Tick
Has the passport 3 months still to run upon return? Assuming you are returning before 'May' 2026 .... Tick
I'll be travelling in January 2026 with a passport that was issued (LATER in January) 2016 and expires in April 2026.

Rules exactly the same for Eurostar. You are leaving the UK and entering an EU country. How long are you staying in Amsterdam? You need to return 3 months before the Jan 2026 expiry date. The issue dates are ok for travel in Sept 2025.Flyingkidney said:HiWe're taking the train to Netherlands - Amsterdam in September - do we still need to renew update passwords as per Martins 2 point warning.. Perhaps it's just the way you've worded that, but it implies to me that you'd be departing more than ten years after issue, which obviously fails the 'within ten years of issue' test if you're travelling to the EU?JGB1955 said:I'll be travelling in January 2026 with a passport that was issued (earlier in January) 2016 and expires in April 2026.0 -
Apologies - you're right. Passport issued 28 January 2016. Travelling 15 January 2026 to Madeira. Returning 22 January 2026. Passport expires 28 April 2026.eskbanker said:
