Hi, do I have to be out of contract before I can switch energy providers? I have three days remaining on my Octopus contract.

Many Octopus fixed contracts don't have an exit fee so it wouldn't be a problem anyway. Not applicable in your case, but others should check their Ts & Cs to see whether it's triggered by a change of tariff or a change of supplier.1

They can't impose any penalty for leaving if within 49 days on your contract ending.
