Everest Conservatory 2019 installation - 10 year gurantee

Everest installed a small extension at the side of my mother's property in April 2019. The property backs onto the woods.

Though there were significant delays with Everest, they did complete though a few months late.
In the summer of 2020, cracks stated to appear at the front of the property where the extension was attached. In 2021 before a kitchen installation/renovations we commissioned a Structural Inspection Report to look into the cracks as they were getting worse. Part of the report advised that a drain may have been compromised as the cracks in the property align with that. This drain is directly under the conservatory that was installed.

The years that followed the cracks became more prominent. Though there was a chance according to the surveyor's report, that the cracks were due to the seasonal effects from the woods at the rear of the property we decided to get a CCTV drain inspection conducted at a cost in April 2025. The inspection showed that the drain had in fact been crushed by the weight of the conservatory and the conservatory is continuing to apply pressure making the cracks in the property more prominent.

We have a 10 year guarantee on works done by Everest which is 6 years in, but my understanding is that Everest though still trading, may not honour the repairs. I've read the helpful article https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2024/05/everest-home-administration/ so I see I have a chance to get them to cover the costs of the damage caused to the property which is currently in the region of £5000.00. I can possibly get the Structural Engineers and the drainage people to attest to the conservatory crusing the pipe due to shoddy workmanship, but what should be my first strong step? Contact Everest first or get my ducks in order by getting info from the structural engineer and the drain people? There was no mortgage when mum purchased the property and I think her daughter let the building insurance lapse so no help there either.

Any assistance is much appreciated as i'm also dealing with my mother's sudden passing.

I suspect the company that installed the conservatory were a different one to the company that has recently gone bust, that was Everest 2020 which was the reincarnation of the old Everest that had previously gone bust.  I can't see you having any consumer protection over this outside of anything credit related - how did she pay ?  Also you could be on a sticky wicket because you have not mitigated your losses by not doing anything about it since 2021 and leaving it to get worse. IMHO this is a bite the bullet and write off the cost situation.
