    The Attorney has to act in the donor's best interests which might not what the donor is interested in doing. So paying the rent and bills is in their interest, buying lots of booze isn't, particularly if it jeopardises payment of the essentials.

    But there's nothing to stop the donor with capacity buying booze themselves. You might get into areas where professionals start looking at self care, but the basic rule is that people are allowed to make mistakes if they have capacity.
