Have you tried the gov.uk court finder: -
    https://www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk/search-option
The usual email for DCB Legal is one of these: -
    1) info@dcblegal.co.uk
    2) response@dcblegal.co.uk
  • Thanks for repsonding.

Usual dcbl email address, got it.

Yes, I've tried the court finder and know it is Huddersfield County Court.
    https://www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk/courts/huddersfield-county-court-and-family-court

on the contact page, probably the most suitable email is:
    enquiries.huddersfield.countycourt@justice.gov.uk

but is it to correct to send court papers to an enquiries email address?
  • ok, it is the enquiries.huddersfield address.

however, i managed to get through to the courts helpline who informed me that a notice of discontinuence was received on the 13th of Nov. I haven't been contacted by DCBL about this and have been running round like a nutter trying to gather my witness statement.

i'm going to submit the WS anyway and will attempt to put in some costs of my own.

Both, but not DCBL, send to the info@ email address at DCB Legal , if they issued the claim,  plus email it to your local civil court named on the court order from them

So one email,  one WS bundle attachment to the email,  2 destinations

If its been discontinued,  check your email inbox and spam folders for the N279 discontinuation document and post a redacted picture of the N279 document below so that your success can be added to the discontinuations thread by Umkomaas

Email the WS bundle WITH a signed/dated defendant's costs sheet setting out time
spent at each stage at £24 per hour.

Then get a copy of the NoD next week from DCB Legal and show us the NoD.

THEN if you want to ask for costs, do it at the end of the month following the 2 examples already in the NEWBIES thread section about costs after a late discontinuance.

  • On it, Apologies for the delay, We're expecing our 2nd born and things are a little unsettled at the moment.

I didn't actually receive a NoD for quite some time after it apparently occured. The NoD was dated the 13/11/2025 but I didn't receive it until 25/11/2025.

I found out about the probable NoD on the 20th of Nov by ringing the court. They believed that I should have been informed by DCBL by phone and by email, though this obviously didn't happen.

By this point I'd already submitted the WS and court fee's. However I've not received a repsonce (beyond the automated one) from the court in relation to that.

I will follow up with court regarding my fee's as suggested above.

Thanks you everyone for you help.

Without this forum I would have ended up handing over quite a large amount of money.

Thats the covering letter, it's the redacted N279 discontinuation document that is mentioned in it that is required,  thank you
