Good morning all from a sleep deprived Mehefinland
Something has been banging about outside all night in the strong winds. For the life of me I can not work out what and where it is. A daylight foray required, although it is quite light already and the sun is peeking out from behind the clouds. Hopefully a better day than yesterday when it lashed down al l morning and a fair chunk of the afternoon. We needed the rain though -ground was like concrete.
Today I am dog sitting for a friend who is currently in the Hebrides in a campervan - hope the weather has been better there. We will see what the day brings.
Hugs and spoons ( and forty winks!!) as always

Morning All
Thanks for the start Mehefin, hope you have a better sleep tonight and can find the source of the noise.
Yesterday was nice on and off - heavy rain in the morning and afternoon but quite nice in between. Washing is on the airer - I had the fire lit last night so it's nearly dry.
Work today and travelling down south after dinner - DS1 can't get away any earlier. It's my Aunt's funeral tomorrow. A late night tonight and Thursday night as we are travelling back after the funeral and cup of tea. At least I'll only have Friday at work and can catch up over the weekend.
Hoping everyone is well, take care. XX14 -
Good morning Derek, sounds like you've had pretty bad weather - do you keep the horses in when it's like that?
We had the odd shower yesterday, already weeds are springing up in the garden. They just needed a drop of rain.
Welcome themsthebreaks, it's great to meet you, hope you keep posting.
Bought a bit of bedding yesterday, so will get that in today, hoping to buy some more today. It's not looking very promising out there this morning, but we'll see how it turns out.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days, take care folks.16 -
Morning allRain overnight but it stopped now. Really strong winds yesterday and are still going to be there today.Had a phone call early evening telling me all my photos were scanned onto a memory stick and were ready for collection. Very happyI popped into the butchers yesterday and so spent the afternoon slicing up and portioning 5kgs of chicken breasts. Also got some of their beef mince to see what it's like compared with supermarket stuff.Housework today and then finishing one of the J D Kirk books. Really enjoying these with laugh out load moments with one liners. They do seems shorter than other novels I've read though as I seems to be getting through them at a rate of knots!Have a good day all and hope you get to catch up with some sleep tonight Mehfin. I can't seems to sleep past 5.30-6 am since retiring x14

Morning folks and sorry about the sleepless night MEHEFIN. Hope you track down the noise. Another same old same old day weatherwise but at least the chilly breeze looks to have died down here.
CAMELOT I hope the funeral goes well and the toxic cousin is on her best behaviour. Funerals are upsetting enough without someone causing bother. Have a safe journey.
I still haven't made the trip into town - the weather keeps putting me off - so I really must make the effort today as heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow. Without warning me, E-On increased my DD last month. I wasn't impressed as I still had a credit balance (albeit a much reduced one!) Then yesterday I had an e-mail saying my DD was going down in June. It must have dawned on them we all use less fuel in the warmer months!
Have a good day folks if you can and gentle ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or sad. Take care all xx

Morning all. The sun and wind are driving the fluffy clouds away, hope they stay away.Yesterday the wind was so strong and there was some sun, I was tempted to do the washing load and hang it out but was then so pleased that I didn't as there were heavy showers throughout. I drove up to the big town for shopping. Went to Tesco to drop off the bag of soft plastics and buy a things that Marks don't have. Mainly sliced gherkins and my preferred brand of mayo. Then a quick zip around Marks and then back home. This morning I have my final invigilation session. Higher Environmental Sciences, something I know nothing about so will read the paper with interest. My cleaner is coming whilst I'm out, it's always a pleasure to come home to clean floors and no dust.@mehefin, can you squeeze in a wee closed eye time this afternoon? @Chrica - I've just been moaning about the new Stuart McBride audiobook, it's over 17 hours long.
Far too much unnecessary stuff. JD Kirk keeps the narrative tight.
I hope that everyone is doing well. Hugs to all.12 -
Morning all
What a wild day yesterday was howling wind and rain for most of the day and night, we ended up going to the cinema yesterday to see LILO and stitch as we couldn’t get into bowling, the film was good though and enjoyed by all.
I too had a bad night so I feel for you Mehefin, I hope tonight is better for us both.
Dinner tonight is summer in winter chicken nice quick meal, dd is taking one of her work kids to a spa today for her Birthday so she won’t be in till after dinner but I will save her some in case she is hungry when she gets home.
Rob coming today but we are not going to work as he has a Dr’s appointment which can take ages, we will go tomorrow though.
Camelot I hope the funeral goes well xx
TA how is your friends son getting on ?
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning
Thanks for starting us Derek, hope you can catch up on your sleep.
Heavy rain at present, although it should be clearing this morning and the rest of the day should be dry.
I am getting to the stage where I really need to go shopping, but to be honest I'm quite enjoying using up stocks and seeing what I can make with what I've got. Tonight will be bbq chicken drumsticks with the last of the fries from the freezer and home made garlic bread from a bake at home baguette. I dont know how long I can keep this up before Mr Fussy gets fed up with my offerings.
Camelot, safe journey and I hope the funeral goes as well as it can.
Themsthebreaks, nice to meet you, please keep posting, everyone on here is really friendly and supportive.
Ruby, hope Robs appointment goes well.
Sorry if I've missed anyone out, have a good day all. Take care.13 -
Morning all, thanks for starting Mehefin but sorry you had such an early start! I suddenly panicked an hour ago, remembering I hadn't put the bins out but I wasn't dressed. My neighbour was doing the same thing, think it's BHol confusion!I shall probably do salmon for tea, nice and quick. We have to pick DGS up from the other side of town- a holiday football camp & go over to DS with him.Caught up with 2 friends on the phone yesterday, post hol catch up.Apart from that not much else, it poured down all day so I didn't have my usual walk. Brighter today although some grey clouds coming over now.Hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
