Gatwick Travel Lodge walking to the Ye Olde Six Bells

We are due to stay at the Gatwick Travel Lodge overnight before an early EasyJet Flight, We have been told the Ye Olde Six Bells pub is a good place to eat in the evening, we are not overly mobile but can walk up to 15 minutes. Can anyone give is exact direction and approximately time to walk from The Travel Lodge to this pub. Is it paved Thank You

It’s walkable, and paved. The initial part of the walk is a little fiddly as you are crossing multi fast traffic lanes on a busy A23 roundabout.  I would suggest you use Google Maps to plot your walking route.

How far is it please and which road do we take. Google Map is a tad confusing probably because of the roundabout. Thanks

Turn right as you exit hotel (on Povey Cross Road).
Walk up to the big roundabout (you will see a petrol station on right).
Use the pedestrian crossings to cross the busy road junction.
The road required is the A23 and is directly across from Povey Cross Road. Should be sign posted to Horley. You will see another petrol station  on your right.
Cross over road (A23) when you can.
Look for a cut through to the pub. I’m sure it is sign posted.
If you get as far as Church Road then you have walked too far but can double back along that road to also reach the pub.

We did this earlier this year. Ye Olde Six Bells does a good menu but best to book In advance. You can walk there from the Gatwick CentralTravel Lodge. It is along the main A23 road and it  would take just under 20 minutes. However we chose the lazy option catching the metrobus route 100 bus stop across the roundabout in Povey Cross Road 2 minutes walk. Then it is only one stop and alight at St Bartholomews Church then a minutes walk to the pub. It runs approximately every 15 minutes right through the evening
