DCB Legal Letter of Claim - Advise Required!

Options
Hi MSE Team!

I require some assistance I have received a PCN Charge from UK Parking Control some time back previously I have never corresponded to any letters of charges from any PLC companies and 99% of the time never heard back (Thanks to this forum and advise given) until now.

I have consistently adhered to the same approach, resulting in an overwhelming number of "Can't Pay Take It Away" letters in the mail. The most recent of these letters was a DCB Legal Letter or Claim. I am in need of guidance from some of your experts regarding my options, as the situation is now threatening to result in a CCJ, which I would prefer not to have on my credit report.

Please find attached letter which I have recently received any advise and guidance would be greatly appreciated as I am unsure what steps to take.

Many Thanks,

Outlaw

That's not a Letter of Claim. It's your Claim Form.

All you need to know is in the second post of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.

You'll end up paying nothing and there won't even be a hearing,
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Firstly Thanks for your prompt responses

I've taken a look at the Newbies post in which you mention just to clarify there are 2 things I need to do which are the following:

1.) AOS Which has now been actioned

2.) Template of Defence which you've kindly supplied editing Paragraph 2 & 3 with an explanation that defendant is unable to confirm who was driving at the time of PCN being issued etc...This Defence to be emailed to ClaimResponses.CNBC@justice.gov.uk correct?

If you could let me know if that's all that is required from me? I'm assuming I then sit back and wait for correspondence.

    Many Thanks,

Correct,  at this early stage,  same as almost everyone else

    Then follow the 12 steps

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th May, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service('AOS') in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 23rd June 2025 to file a Defence.

That's well over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an AOS has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

    Hello, Everyone.

Just an update. I received an email back from DCB Legal stating that their clients would like to proceed with the claim; please see the attached document. Is this something I should prepare for if it gets to court and wait for the arranged date?

I'd welcome any advice on what my next steps should be.

    Kind Regards,

    Outlaw

Refer to the 12 steps (now 8 steps) in the template defence thread.
  • Evening All,

Apologies about the delay in response so to confirm for the time being I am required to fill out the N180 Form which then needs to be emailed over to the CNBC along with copying DCB Legal into the email trail?

claimresponses.cnbc@justice.gov.uk < This is the correct email address the N180 needs to be sent over to right?

    Many Thanks,
