Parking Charge 'cancelled' but paperwork sent

CP plus/groupnexus issued a 'parking charge' in August last year
Thanks for the good advice in the newbies thread, I spoke to the landowner.
I received written postal confirmation from GroupNexus in April that the 'parking charge has been cancelled in full and no further action will be taken'.
However, in May, I recieved a Claim Form.
I have seen how to respond to the claim form, and a template defence.
My question is, should I (a) contact GroupNexus and question why i have been sent the claim or (b) start a defence without contacting them?
GroupNexus are represented by DCB legal who, as I understand, always discontinue.
All help appreciated

Are you sure the N1SDT claim form relates to the same parking event? You should proceed to do the AOS to buy yourself some more time to compile your defence. If what you wrote above is true, you have a cast iron defence.

Seen this before. It's because DCB Legal don't seem to be instructed by parking firms, they show a model that bears all the hallmarks of them taking cases over in bulk with little or no further liaison with their 'client'.
I think it's something akin to what's called a 'CFA lite' arrangement whereby solicitors call the shots. Looks like another MIL Collections to me, only without a Deed of Assignment. Looks like DCB Legal effectively become the data controllers which I believe is against KADOE.
Not acceptable IMHO but you'll have to defend anyway otherwise a CCJ is risked.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
